The "Treaty of the Pyrenees" divided this natural and historical Catalan region between France and Spain. It is also divided the Spanish provinces of Lleida and Girona.
The locals are known as "Ceretans".
One of the area's greatest treasures is the wealth of Romanesque remains.
La Cerdanya is one of the most extensive and highest valleys in the whole of Europe. It also has the most hours of sunshine.
The flora and fauna are varied and abundant.
La Cerdanya is surrounded by the Pyrenees and the Cadí and Moixeró mountain ranges.
It is, therefore, an ideal valley in which to practise a host of adventure and winter sports.
